This new and exciting Valley is a ninety minute drive from Mendoza City Centre, where great great grapes, walnuts and varios fruits grow in abundance.  A totally different climate (sometimes difficult), varying elevations, even in the same vineyard and abundant sweet water provide winemakers with some of the best "terroir" they could wish for.  Many of the oldest, together with the most moder and progressive wineries based up in the Lújan and Maipú regions have also planted vineyards in this valley, simply because of the quality of it´s grapes.

 

Some areas are as high as 1,400 metres above sea level. Latitude is 34 degrees and there are 1,776 degree-days in the Winkler Scale.

Soils: Alluvial, stony and well drained with mineral-rich water.

Temperature: The range is wide, averaging 15C. The significant difference in night and day temperatures ensures red varieties have well developed tannins and good colour. Whites develop the right acidity.

Grape varieties: Chardonnay, Semillon and Chenin.
Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Barbera, Sangiovese, Bonarda. The Merlot is particularly notable for its remarkable quality.
