TAPIZ
Tapiz is a very successful winery that is producing some excellent wines. Their sauvignon blanc is a crisp, refreshing example of the promise Argentina holds for this varietal. Their high end Zolo is a rich and well balanced blend.
The Argentine owners have also created a lucrative sideline in wine tourism. Club Tapiz is one of the few genuine winery lodges in Mendoza and is one of the most popular boutique hotels in the area. In the summer it is near impossible to get a room there. It also houses a great restaurant called Terruņo, with celebrity chef Max Casa in charge. The winery itself conducts one of the best tours with a horse drawn carriage through the vines and barrel and tank tastings.
