Septima

 

Septima means seventh, one of nine international wineries owned by the Codorniu company. The bodega makes a particularly fine sparkling wine called Maria, overlooked by winemaker Ruben Calven. 80% Chardonnay (from nearby Valle de Uco) and 20% Pinot Noir, this excellent Brut goes down particularly well in the domestic market. Argentines in general have an agreeable attitude towards sparkling wine, drinking it whenever they feel like it and particularly before meals.
