RENACER
When retiring from the World Bank, Chilean Patricio Reich decided to get in on the fine wine boom across the Andes in Argentina. His previous experience as owner of the well know San Pedro winery 15 years earlier was perhaps one of the reasons why he called his new venture Renacer, which means rebirth in Spanish. This brand new winery is following a malbec-only strategy and is producing two labels only. The Punto Final Reserva is now one of the hottest malbecs coming out of Argentina. It is a well structured and robust wine with well integrated fruit and wood. The lower bracket Punto Final is a younger, fruitier version with sweet lengthy tannins. The winery is situated in Lujan de Cuyo and is currently not open to tourism though visits are allowed at the winery´s discretion.
