Norton
Founded by a British rail engineer at the end of the 19th century, Bodega Norton has become one of the largest and most important wineries in Argentina. With a production of 8 million litres and rising, Norton produce both high-end wines for export and lower level brands for the domestic market.
While managing to move with the times, this traditionally designed winery still indulges in some old practices like filling empty demijohns for locals every Thursday morning. It is also one of the more tourist friendly places to visit. The winery is currently owned by an Austrian crystal company and is planning further expansion. The 2005 vintage was affected badly by a devastating hail storm 2 weeks before harvest.
The Norton line includes Norton Privada and Norton Malbec Reserva.
