WINE HARVEST FESTVIAL 2009 MALBEC PROGRAM 5 DAYS/4 NIGHTS
Thursday 5th March: Arrival Mendoza
Upon your arrival your English speaking host will meet you in the airport and transfer you to
HOTEL ARGENTINO, where after check-in he will discuss your itinerary with you. Free time.

Friday 6th March: Wine Tour – Lújan de Cuyo & “
La Vía Blanca”
Your host meets you at your hotel at 10am and we travel to Lujan de Cuyo region and visit
LAGARDE, a 110 year old very historical winery, recently refurbished by the current Argentinian owners. A tour is followed by a tasting. Next we visit
RUCA MALEN, a modern winery, jointly owned by an Argentinian and a Frenchman, both very experienced in the drinks business. Following a tour we will have a superb five course lunch, each dish being served with a different wine.
Next it is back to your hotel giving you the chance to rest before sampling Mendoza´s vibrant night life. In the evening we will watch “
La Via Blanca” from the Plaza Independencia. It is an extremely colourful parade of all the floats, each one carrying one of the
Queens. Lots of music, fresh fruits, ingenious decor and tremendous partisan enthusiasm for ones favourite beauty. Your host will be on-
hand to explain/translate Back to your hotel, in time for your dinner.
There are plenty of good restaurants within easy reach of your hotel.

Saturday 7th March
Your host meets you in the hotel after breakfast to watch “
The Carousel”, where a procession of very decorative horse drawn carriages, regional bands playing very traditional music, dancers and the famous “Gauchos” (cowboys) pass by within easy reach. The hotel serves copious quantities of delicious food and wine to prepare the soul for a day of colourful pageantry and gaiety. Following this we will take a short ride to
CAVA DE CANO where after seeing the tiny very artisanal wine-making operation we will eat one of Argentina´s favourites, “Tapas”…30 dishes of food, all of which must be finished!!!
Back to your hotel for a “siesta” before your host picks you up again at 8.30pm for the short ride up into the park and the 25,000 seat Greek style amphitheatre, where in reserved seats we will watch the spectacular “
Central Act”, an extravaganza of dance, music, folklore, awesome choreography, clever visual effects and the crowning of “The Queen”. The show is enhanced by laser lights bouncing off the surrounding hills, great special effects and fireworks in abundance. Your host will bring light snacks, wine and water. We will get you back to your hotel by 3.00am (approx), (don´t miss that afternoon siesta).

Sunday 8th March
The morning is free. Your host will pick you up at noon to visit
MIGUEL MINNI, a family run winery with a big local following. After a tour we will have a tasting in a charming thatched roof visitor centre and then we will eat the most traditional and famous of Argentina´s lunches “Asado” (BBQ). The winery has a good tree shaded lawn area and a small swimming pool to cool down in. Next, back to your hotel with your evening free to do as you please.

Monday 9th March
After checking out of your hotel your host will transfer you to the airport and see you through to the departure gate.
