Los Alamos is situated in San Rafael, built in 1830 invites guests on a retrospective journey full of magic. The estancia has been successfull maintained very carefully in order to keep its original feel through the years and was originally owner by Domingo Bombal,who ran as Gobernor of Mendoza various times, following his death the house was taken over by Susana Bombal, who transformed it into an oasis of delicacy. regular guests included; Jorge Luis Borges, Manuel újica Láinez, Raúl Soldi, Héctor Basaldua and many more of Susana´s friends - all leaving a memory behind, be it a poem, painting or photograph - the house was an inspiration to them all.
Los Alamos is a very special place where guests spend days simply relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere, sitting in the garden at dusk with a glass of wine, stolling around the vineyards that surround the main house or visiting the Labernith - a gift in memory of Jorge Luis Borges.
Each room is decorated differently with a unique style, ornamented with antique furniture and log fires. There is no internet access nor cable TV - this is an exclusive hide-away for those ready to take an emotive journey back in time.
