The road from Salta to Cafayate pases through the Valleys of Calchaquí draws many people off the beaten path …. Tobacco, tropical fruits and sugar cane are the main agricultural products here, the road weaves its way through the Indian towns and limestone rock formations – which appeared as background in the movie The Empire Strikes Back.

The wine town of Cafayate at 1,750 metres above sea level is home to some of the highest vineyards in the World and a paradise for wine lovers & gastrophers looking for a tranquil get-away. It is famous for the torrontés wine - product of the exquisite combination of temperature and humidity that provides the ideal environment to the growth of the sweet and deep fruit flavor.
